Getting to Mt Buller and Benalla Ski Club
DRIVE
Mt Buller is just 248kms north-east of Melbourne via Mansfield. There are a few different routes you can take from Melbourne:
  • Plenty Rd via Whittlesea and Yea
  • Via the Hume Hwy to Tallarook and Yea
  • Via the Maroondah Hwy to Yarra Glen and Yea
COACH
A number of coach services operate to and from Mt Buller from Melbourne during the snow season. A quick snapshot of services offered is in the table below, and the listings underneath provide further detail for each coach service.

Can you just book per room?

Yes, it it is possible to book per room. 

Can you book out the whole Lodge?

Yes , it is possible to book out the whole lodge.

Arrivals & departures?

Check in and checkout is 5pm. Those checking in or out early may leave their belongings at the base of the stairwell until you leave.

Is linen provided, and are rooms serviced?

Guests can bring their own linen, however hiring linen is an option.

Is there WIFI?

No although the Mt Buller resort management board plans to introduce Wifi in 2023-2024. Bluetooth access via phone is normally 4-5 bars and 4-5G.

What is provided in the kitchen?

There is a large self catered kitchen for use including dishwashers, toasters. BBQ facilities are available and can be used all year round.

What should I bring?

Linen, supplies for all meals and drinks, and your ski or green season gear!

What is the lodge history?

The Benalla ski club was formed in 1958, one of the first on the Mt Buller site, and construction of the original timber lodge started in 1960. The lodge was replaced and rebuilt in 1983 in its current form and is constantly renovated and improved with the annual revenues of the club, taking the facility to the high standards and comfort levels that members and external guests experiences today.
